Southwest is on a 100-acre campus in a rural setting in Richlands, Virginia. There are many activities and organizations for Southwest students to participate in – chorus,, , and more.
Southwest does not have fraternities or sororities.
Southwest has a thriving Phi Theta Kappa. In fact, more students participate in Phi Theta Kappa than any other on-campus activity.
Other popular student organizations at Southwest include Phi Beta Lambda, Intervoice, Helping Minds Club and Project ACHEIVE.
Southwest students' favorite campus traditions are Back to School Bash, End of the Year Bash and Annual Halloween Costume Contest.
Southwest does not offer housing.

Southwest Virginia Community College is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The Southwest campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night. The school also has student security patrols.

Visiting colleges is one of the best ways to get a sense of the campus and student body. If you'd like to visit to Southwest, take Route 19, Interstate 81, Interstate 77 to Richlands, VA. If you need to fly, book your flight to Tri-City Regional airport.
