IWU Student Life

IWU is on a 300-acre campus in a small town setting in Marion, Indiana, not far from Indianapolis. There are many activities and organizations for IWU students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, a radio station and more.

IWU does not have fraternities or sororities.

IWU has a thriving Student Government Organization. In fact, more students participate in Student Government Organization than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at IWU include Student Activities Council, University Players, World Christian Fellowship and Sixth Man Club.

The IWU community comes together each year for Homecoming, Friday Night Live and Spotted Cow Music Festival.

IWU Housing

IWU offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through junior year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

The majority of IWU students live on campus. In 2021, 82% of undergrads at IWU lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 18% of students lived off-campus or commuted to IWU. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.IWU does not offer coed housing or housing for students with disabilities.

Is IWU Safe?

College is like a home away from home. Whether you're walking to class or coming back from late-night studying (or partying!), it's important to feel safe on campus.

Indiana Wesleyan University is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The IWU campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night.

IWU offers late-night transportation or safety escorts for students. Dorms can only be accessed with secure key cards so that students can feel confident that they are safe in on-campus housing.
