IWU Academics

Indiana Wesleyan University requires a minimum of 124 credit hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. There is no accelarated degree program, . Additionally, IWU has a summer session, so students can earn credits during the summer. Around 65% of students who started college at IWU finish the requirements for graduation within six years. IWU offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Are Required at IWU?

IWU has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students are not required to fulfill a lanuage requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

Majors at IWU

Double majoring may require more work but it can provide a unique combination of experience that helps students stand out when job searching or applying to grad school.

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. IWU does not require a senior project for all students.

IWU offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

IWU has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does IWU Offer AP Credit?

IWU offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does IWU Have An Honor's Program?

IWU offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and offers a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does IWU Require Internships?
