Different people have different ideas about what makes a "good" school. However, there are a few good ways to get a better sense how satisfied students are and how well a school supports its student body.

Out of all the first-year, full-time undergrads who start at Yale, around 65% return for their sophomore year. Out of the 1,360 students who started at Yale as first-time freshman, 1,140 graduate within four years.

Yale's six-year graduation rate for undergrads is 96%. Compare this to the average six-year graduation rate for colleges and universities in the U.S., which is around 61% for public schools and 67% for private.

Job Outcomes and Debt for Yale Grads

Job placement and student debt statistics for recent graduates can give you a sense of the return on investment a school offers. In 2020, students graduated with an average of $14,884 in student loans for each student with debt. For context, compare this number with the average national debt, which is around $36,000 per borrower.

Based on this information, how does Yale sound? Remember, the best school for one person may not be the right school for another! So ask yourself: Is Yale a good school for you?
