UNCSA is on a 74-acre campus in an urban setting in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. UNCSA has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to participate in – theater groups, , and more.
UNCSA does not have fraternities or sororities.
UNCSA has a thriving A.R.T.S. Club (awareness on social issues through artistic expression). In fact, more students participate in A.R.T.S. Club (awareness on social issues through artistic expression) than any other on-campus activity.

The UNCSA community comes together each year for Welcome Back Weekend, FrozeArts and Beaux Arts (end of the year celebration).
UNCSA offers housing for students. Students are required to live on campus through sophomore year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.
The majority of UNCSA students live on campus. In 2021, 53.35% of undergrads at UNCSA lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 46.65% of students lived off-campus or commuted to UNCSA. There are 529 spots available in on-campus housing for all 920 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 489 students chose to live on-campus. On the weekends, about 95% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.
UNCSA offers coed housing and housing for students with disabilities.
UNCSA does not have any athletic programs or the school has not reported any information on their athletic teams.

University of North Carolina School of the Arts is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The UNCSA campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night.
UNCSA offers late-night transportation or safety escorts for students. Campus housing is secure and dorms can only be accessed with secure key cards.
