Oakwood University is on a 1,200-acre campus in in Huntsville, Alabama. There are many activities and organizations for Oakwood University students to participate in – chorus,, a campus newspaper, a radio station and more.

The Oakwood University community comes together each year for Homecoming, Graduation and Youth Motivational Task Force Week.
Oakwood University offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through freshman year. First year students are given priority for on-campus housing.
The majority of Oakwood University students live on campus. In 2021, 64% of undergrads at Oakwood University lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 36% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Oakwood University. There are 1,220 spots available in on-campus housing for all 1,824 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 1,175 students chose to live in campus housing. On the weekends, about 89% students stay on-campus. Oakwood University does not offer coed housing or housing for students with disabilities.
