NDSU Student Life

NDSU is on a 2,100-acre campus in an urban setting in Fargo, North Dakota. NDSU has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to participate in – band, chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, a radio station and more.

NDSU also has fraternities and sororities.

NDSU has a thriving Saddle and Sirloin. In fact, more students participate in Saddle and Sirloin than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at NDSU include Students Today, Leaders Forever, Chi Alpha Christian Organization, fraternities/sororities and CRU.

The NDSU community comes together each year for Spring Concert, Little International and Blue Key Homecoming Show.

NDSU Housing

NDSU offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through freshman year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

Most NDSU students live off campus. In 2021, 36% of undergrads at NDSU lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 64% of students lived off-campus or commuted to NDSU. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

NDSU offers coed housing and housing for students with disabilities.

Safety at NDSU

College is like a home away from home. Whether you're walking to class or coming back from late-night studying (or partying!), it's important to feel safe on campus.

North Dakota State University is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The NDSU campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night.

NDSU offers late-night transportation or safety escorts for students. Campus housing is secure and dorms can only be accessed with secure key cards.

Additionally, NDSU has Pathlight app.

Visiting colleges is one of the best ways to get a sense of the campus and student body. If you'd like to visit to NDSU, take Interstates 29 and 94 to Fargo, ND. If you need to fly, book your flight to Hector International airport.
