Middlebury College Student Life

Middlebury College is on a 350-acre campus in a small town setting in Middlebury, Vermont. Middlebury College has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, a radio station and more.

Middlebury College does not have fraternities or sororities.

Middlebury College has a thriving Middlebury College Activities Board. In fact, more students participate in Middlebury College Activities Board than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at Middlebury College include Middlebury Mountain Club, Student Government Association, International Students Organization and WRMC.

The Middlebury College community comes together each year for Senior Activities, Winter Carnival and Student Concert Series.

Does Middlebury College Offer Student Housing?

Middlebury College offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through junior year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

The majority of Middlebury College students live on campus. In 2021, 95% of undergrads at Middlebury College lived in some kind of on-campus housing There are 2,546 spots available in on-campus housing for all 2,580 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 2,417 students chose to live in campus housing. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

Middlebury College Athletics

At Middlebury College there are a variety of athletic options for students interested in joining a sports program.

Intercollegiate sports are the highest tier of college sports and can be very competitive. Intercollegiate teams are regulated by the NCAA, funded by the university, and compete against teams from other universities. The division of a sports team depends on the size of the unversity, funding, and compention level. An intercollegiate school team will be Division I, II or III, with Division I being the highest level.

Club sports are not regulated by the NCAA and are a great option for students not interested in trying out for an intercollegiate team. Club sports are usually student run but can also be funded by the university.

Intramural sports are the most casual and informal. Intramural sports are often free and require very little time commitment.

Is Middlebury College Safe?
