Holy Cross College Student Life

Holy Cross College is on a 150-acre campus in a suburban setting in Notre Dame, Indiana, not far from Chicago and Indianapolis. Holy Cross College has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to participate in – band, chorus, theater groups, , and more.

Holy Cross College does not have fraternities or sororities.

Holy Cross College has a thriving Student Government Association. In fact, more students participate in Student Government Association than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at Holy Cross College include Campus Ministry, Intramural athletics, Commuter Student Organization and SAGE.

Holy Cross College students' favorite campus traditions are Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events, Fall Fest and Winter Formal.

Holy Cross College Housing

Holy Cross College offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through sophomore year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

The majority of Holy Cross College students live on campus. In 2021, 67% of undergrads at Holy Cross College lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 33% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Holy Cross College. There are 353 spots available in on-campus housing for all 601 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 348 students chose to live in campus housing. On the weekends, about 70% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.Holy Cross College does not offer coed housing or housing for students with disabilities.

Holy Cross College Athletics

At Holy Cross College there are a variety of athletic options for students interested in joining a sports program.

Intercollegiate sports are the highest tier of college sports and can be very competitive. Intercollegiate teams are regulated by the NCAA, funded by the university, and compete against teams from other universities. The division of a sports team depends on the size of the unversity, funding, and compention level. An intercollegiate school team will be Division I, II or III, with Division I being the highest level.

Club sports are not regulated by the NCAA and are a great option for students not interested in trying out for an intercollegiate team. Club sports are usually student run but can also be funded by the university.

Intramural sports are the most casual and informal. Intramural sports are often free and require very little time commitment.
