About Alcorn State University

Alcorn State University is a place of purpose, history, and discovery. Alcorn is the nation’s oldest, historically Black, land-grant university and the second oldest public university in Mississippi. Alcorn is located on 1700 acres in Lorman, Mississippi, with branches in Vicksburg and Natchez. For over 150 years, Alcorn State University has invited students to immerse themselves into its vibrant, picturesque campus to self-reflect, gain knowledge, and meet students and faculty just as passionate as they are. At Alcorn, century-old oak trees shade historic buildings and innovative new facilities. Today, the student body consists of nearly 3,200 learners from 34 states and 23 countries.
