Wesleyan University requires at least 32 credits to graduate with a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Around 91% of students who started college at Wesleyan finish the requirements for graduation within six years. Wesleyan offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.
Wesleyan does not have a core curriculum. Since there are no specific-classes required in order to graduate, students have a lot of flexibiity about what classes they choose to take. Students are not required to fulfill a lanuage requirement or a math or science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.
When choosing a major, Wesleyan students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at Wesleyan below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Double majoring may require more work but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to a graduate program.
If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. Wesleyan does not require all students to complete a senior project.
Wesleyan offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.
Wesleyan does not have distance learning options or fully-online programs, so students must be able to attend classes on-campus.
Wesleyan offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.
Wesleyan offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, but does not offer a Freshman Honors College.
Wesleyan does not require an internship for students in some majors only. Internships are a great way to get work experience, discover career paths that might fit you, or rule out ones that don't.
