If you are thinking about applying to UWF, the regular decision application deadline is June 30 and the fee for the application is $30.

Application fees can add up, but some schools do have free applications and students who are struggling to afford application fees may qualify for for an application fee waiver.

Considering Applying Early to UWF?

University of West Florida does not offer early decision or early action.

Some students apply to college early because they believe it will help their chances. How Hard Is It To Get Admitted to UWF?

UWF is a moderately difficult school to get into. UWF evaluates applicants carefully based on multiple criteria to decide who to admit, and who to deny.

In 2021, UWF accepted 58% of students, around 4,163 of the 7,232 students who applied.

Schools that are moderately difficult to get into, like UWF, accept fewer than 85% of all applicants. At least 75% of all admitted students have GPAs in the top 50% of their high school class and scored over 1010 on the SAT or over 18 on the ACT. Admissions to applicants with associate degrees from Florida public junior colleges is program not competitive.

What GPA Do I Need To Get Into UWF?

Your high school grade point average (GPA) is a number that reflects your high school academic performance. A weighted GPA or an unweighted GPA are the two possible GPA scores considered by colleges.

An unweighted GPA is an average of your scores from each class on a four-point scale. 4.0. Unweighted GPAs range from 4.0 to under 1.0. A weighted GPA considers your average grade and the difficulty of your classes. A weighted GPA boosts your average by adding extra points for honors or Advanced Placement courses.

Out of all students that were admitted, 84% submitted a class rank. At UWF 15% of students ranked in the top 10% of their graduating class in high school, 44% were in the top 25% and 80% were in the top 50%.

UWF does not have a test optional admissions policy. Test optional schools allow students to choose if they want to submit ACT or SAT scores with their applications or not.

What's a Good SAT Score for UWF?

To be competitive with other UWF applicants, you should strive to earn between 1060 and 1220 (or higher!) on the SAT. At UWF 25% of admitted students scored higher than 1220 and 25% of scored lower than 1060, but the majority of students scored somewhere in between these two numbers.

On the SAT Math Section, 25% of UWF students scored 605 or higher and 75% of students scored 540 or higher. On the SAT Critical Reading section (formerly called the Verbal section), 25% of UWF students scored 630 or higher, and 75% scored a 540 or higher.

To be most competitive at UWF, you should strive to earn between 22 and 27 on the ACT.

An ACT score of 27 means you fall in the 75th percentile for UWF's admitted students. One out of every four students scored above a 27, and three out of four students scored lower than 27 on the ACT.

A 22 on the ACT is the 25th percentile for UWF students. Only one out of every four students scored below 22.
