St. Edward's Academics

St. Edward's University requires a minimum of 120 credit hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. There is no accelarated degree program, . Additionally, St. Edward's has a summer session, so students can earn credits during the summer. Around 64% of students who started college at St. Edward's finish the requirements for graduation within six years. St. Edward's offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Are Required at St. Edward's?

St. Edward's has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students need to fulfull a language requirement as well as a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

Majors at St. Edward's

Declaring a double major may mean taking more courses, but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when job searching or applying to a graduate program.

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. Students are not required to complete a senior project unless it is required for their specific major .

Does St. Edward's Offer Learning Disability Services?

St. Edward's offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does St. Edward's Have An Online Program?

St. Edward's does not have distance learning options or fully-online programs, so students must be able to attend classes on-campus.

Does St. Edward's Give AP Credit?

St. Edward's offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does St. Edward's Have An Honor's Program?

St. Edward's offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does St. Edward's Require Internships?

St. Edward's requires an internship for students in some majors only. Students can look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
