Parkland College Academics

Parkland College requires a minimum of to complete a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Parkland College offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Do I Have To Take at Parkland College?

Parkland College has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.

Parkland College offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does Parkland College Have An Honor's Program?

Parkland College offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.
