OHSU Academics

Oregon Health & Science University requires at least 180 quarter hours to complete a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. OHSU offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Are Required at OHSU?

OHSU has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement or a math or science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

When choosing a major, OHSU students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at OHSU below. OHSU does not offer double majors, so students must choose on area of study to focus on. .

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. OHSU does not require all students to complete a senior project.

OHSU has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does OHSU Give AP Credit?

OHSU offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does OHSU Have An Honor's Program?

OHSU does not offer an honors program, but does have a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students. .

Does OHSU Require Internships?

OHSU does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
