GCC Academics

Glendale Community College requires at least to graduate with a bachelor's degree. There is no accelarated degree program, . Additionally, GCC has a summer session, so students can earn credits during the summer. GCC offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Are Required at GCC?

GCC has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. .

Does GCC Offer Learning Disability Services?

GCC offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. GCC offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

GCC offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, but does not offer a Freshman Honors College.

Does GCC Require Internships?

GCC does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
