FPU Academics

Franklin Pierce University requires at least 120 semester hours to complete a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Around 49% of students who started college at FPU finish the requirements for graduation within six years. FPU offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Are Required at FPU?

FPU has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.

Majors at FPU

When choosing a major, FPU students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at FPU below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Double majoring may mean taking more courses, but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to a graduate program.

If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. FPU does not require all students to complete a senior project.

Does FPU Have Services For Students With Disabilities?

FPU offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does FPU Offer Online Classes?

FPU has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does FPU Offer Credit for AP Classes?

FPU offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does FPU Have An Honor's Program?

FPU offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and offers a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does FPU Require Internships?

FPU does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
