DACC Academics

Danville Area Community College requires at least to complete a bachelor's degree. There is no accelarated degree program, . Additionally, DACC has a summer session, so students can earn credits during the summer. DACC offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Do I Have To Take at DACC?

DACC has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement or a math or science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

Majors at DACC

When choosing a major, DACC students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at DACC below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Declaring a double major may require more work but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to grad school.

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. DACC does not require all students to complete a senior project.

DACC offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

DACC does not offer an honors program, but does have a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students. .
