College of the Canyons Academics

College of the Canyons requires a minimum of to complete a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. College of the Canyons offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Are Required at College of the Canyons?

College of the Canyons has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students are not required to fulfill a lanuage requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

Majors at College of the Canyons

Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Declaring a double major may mean taking more courses, but it can provide a unique combination of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to grad school.

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. .

Does College of the Canyons Offer Credit for AP Classes?

College of the Canyons offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does College of the Canyons Have An Honor's Program?

College of the Canyons offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.
