BC Academics

Bridgewater College requires at least 120 credits to graduate with a bachelor's degree. There is no accelarated degree program, . Additionally, BC has a summer session, so students can earn credits during the summer. Around 63% of students who started college at BC finish the requirements for graduation within six years. BC offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Are Required at BC?

BC has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students need to fulfull a language requirement as well as a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.

Majors at BC

When choosing a major, BC students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at BC below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Double majoring may mean taking more courses, but it can provide a unique combination of experience that helps students stand out when job searching or applying to a graduate program.

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. BC does not require all students to complete a senior project.

Does BC Offer Learning Disability Services?

BC offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does BC Offer Online Classes?

BC has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does BC Offer AP Credit?

BC offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does BC Have An Honor's Program?

BC offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does BC Require Internships?

BC does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
