What is a good SAT score?

How you define a good SAT score depends on your goals, the colleges you're applying to, and your other qualifications. In 2020, the average SAT score was 1051, which was down slightly from previous years. Many of the top colleges and universities are happy to see applicants with a 1500 or higher on the SAT. There are many great schools that accept students with lower than a 1500 though.

Choose the score closest to your score below to see a list of colleges where admitted students have SAT scores in that range. If you see a school you're interested in, click the heart to add it to your college list.
