UNCSA Student Activities

UNCSA has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to join – including theater groups, and more.

Interested in Greek life? UNCSA does not have fraternities or sororities.

UNCSA has the A.R.T.S. Club (awareness on social issues through artistic expression). In fact, more students participate in the A.R.T.S. Club (awareness on social issues through artistic expression) than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at UNCSA include The Artist Underground, Art & Soul, UNCSA Artists of Color.

The UNCSA community comes together each year for Welcome Back Weekend, FrozeArts and Beaux Arts (end of the year celebration).

UNCSA Housing

UNCSA offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through sophomore year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

The majority of UNCSA students live on campus. In 2022, 53% of undergrads at UNCSA lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 47% of students lived off-campus or commuted to UNCSA. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

UNCSA offers coed housing and housing for students with disabilities.

Safety at UNCSA

University of North Carolina School of the Arts is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The UNCSA campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night.

UNCSA offers late-night transportation or safety escorts for students. Dorms can only be accessed with secure key cards so that students can feel confident that they are safe in on-campus housing.
