FIT Academics

There is no accelarated degree program at FIT, but students who wish to save money or graduate early can look into transferring in credits. FIT accepts transfer credits. The school accepts AP credit and IB credits. Many students like to take classes in the summer, to earn extra credits. However, FIT does not offer classes during the summer.

NOTE: Around 70% of students who start college at FIT finish the requirements for graduation within six years.

FIT offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

FIT has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate.

Student Designed Majors

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed.

Senior Projects

FIT does not require a senior project for all students.

Double Majoring at FIT

At FIT, students are not permitted to double major, and must choose just one area of study to focus on.

Does FIT Offer Online Classes?

✅ FIT has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does FIT Offer AP Credit?

✅ FIT offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does FIT Have An Honors Program?

✅ FIT offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, but does not offer a Freshman Honors College.

Does FIT Require Internships?

❌ FIT does not require an internship for any students.

Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
