Digipen Academics

DigiPen Institute of Technology requires at least 129-143 to complete a bachelor's degree.

Students can choose the accelarated degree program if they would like to finish all the credits for graduation in less time than normal. Digipen accepts transfer credits. The school accepts AP credit and IB credits. Many students like to take classes in the summer, to earn extra credits. However, Digipen does not offer classes during the summer.

Digipen offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Digipen does not have a core curriculum. Since there are no specific-classes required in order to graduate, students have a lot of flexibiity about what classes they choose to take.

Student Designed Majors

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed.

Senior Projects

Students are not required to complete a senior project unless it is required for their specific major.

Double Majoring at Digipen

At Digipen, students are not permitted to double major, and must choose just one area of study to focus on.

Does Digipen Have An Online Program?

❌ Digipen does not have distance learning options or fully-online programs, so students must be able to attend classes on-campus.

Does Digipen Give AP Credit?

✅ Digipen offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does Digipen Have An Honors Program?

❌ Digipen does not offer an honors program or a Freshman Honor College.

Does Digipen Require Internships?

❌ Students at Digipen are not required to complete an internship as a graduation requirement.

Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job. While Digipen does not require internships for students of any major, internships are a great way to get work experience, discover career paths that might fit you, or rule out ones that don't.
