Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - Worth attending. The student who did half the presentation was really well informed and enthusiastic about the school. Unfortunately, when the room was split up for tours, we were not in his group.

Campus Tour: Yes - Guide did not know about the campus except which buildings her friends had classes in. The tour was short and didn't go into any academic areas. Son crossed BU off his list after this tour.

It's old, but you know that going in. It is really a lovely campus in a great city and seeing it in person is important if you think it might be the right campus for you.

Construction all around the admissions office made it hard to park and harder to find our way to the tour.

Overdone staged room sponsored by the bookstore. Would rather have seen a real student's room. Couldn't get a sense of the different living options from seeing a single room.

Campus Visit Notes for Boston University

Visit Description:

Our guide did not seem to know much about the school or the campus except which buildings her friends had classes in or lived in. The tour was short and didn't go into any academic buildings. Son crossed BU off his list after this tour. We didn't really get a sense of what it was like to be a student at Boston University, and that's kind of the point of visiting and taking a tour.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

When they suggest taking the T (a train) to the campus, listen. Parking is very hard to find.
