The Mountain West Conference is an NCAA Division I affiliated collegiate athletic conference that began in 1999. The conference has 11 full members, seven of which are original members. Mountain West has won 5 team NCAA championships and 51 individual NCAA championships. Sports sponsored by Mountain West are baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track & field, volleyball, and esports.

Utah State University

Utah State has been a member of Mountain West since 2013. In 2021, Utah State Football had a winning streak of three games and overall won 11 of 14 games. Utah State won the 2021 Mountain West Football Championship game against San Diego State.

  • United States Air Force Academy

    The United States Air Force Academy joined Mountain West in 1999. In 2016 and 2018 the U.S. Air Force Academy won the Mountain West Conference championship title for men’s indoor track & field.

  • Boise State University

    Boise State University joined Mountain West in 2011 and has won one NCAA team championship. In 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, Boise State won the Mountain West women’s basketball championship title.

  • Colorado State University

    Colorado State joined Mountain West in 1999 as a founding member. Colorado State has won one NCAA team championship.

    California State University, Fresno joined Mountain West in 2012. Fresno State has won two NCAA team championships.

  • University of Nevada, Reno

    University of Nevada, Reno joined Mountain West in 2012. In 2017, Nevada won the Mountain West Men’s Basketball championship title.

  • University of New Mexico

    University of New Mexico joined Mountain West in 1999 as a founding member. UNM has won three NCAA team championships.

  • San Diego State University

    San Diego State has been a member of Mountain West since 1999, when the conference was founded. San Diego State has won one NCAA team championship.

  • San Jose State University

    San Jose State joined Mountain West in 2013. SJSU has won a total of 10 NCAA team championships over the course of the university’s history. As of 2020, eight former SJSU football players are actively playing in the NFL.

  • University of Nevada, Las Vegas

    UNLV joined Mountain West in 1999 as a founding member. UNLV has won two NCAA team championships.

  • University of Wyoming

    University of Wyoming joined Mountain West in 1999 as a founding member. UW has won a total of three NCAA team championships.
