The Woods Academics

William Woods University requires a minimum of 120 credits to graduate with a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Around 59% of students who started college at The Woods finish the requirements for graduation within six years. The Woods offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Are Required at The Woods?

The Woods has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students are not required to fulfill a lanuage requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.

Majors at The Woods

When choosing a major, The Woods students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at The Woods below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Double majoring may mean taking more courses, but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when job searching or applying to a graduate program.

If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. The Woods does not require a senior project for all students.

Does The Woods Have Services For Students With Disabilities?

The Woods offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does The Woods Have An Online Program?

The Woods has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does The Woods Offer AP Credit?

The Woods offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does The Woods Have An Honor's Program?

The Woods offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does The Woods Require Internships?

The Woods requires an internship for students in some majors only. Students can look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
