Griffins Academics

Westminster College requires a minimum of 124 semester hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. Students can choose the accelarated degree program if they would like to finish all the credits for graduation in less time than normal. Around 69% of students who started college at Griffins graduate within six years. Griffins offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Do I Have To Take at Griffins?

Griffins has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students are required to fulfill a lanuage requirement as well as a math and science requirement. Students are required to take a computer class to fufill the graduation requirements for Griffins.

Majors at Griffins

When choosing a major, Griffins students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at Griffins below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Double majoring may require more work but it can provide a unique combination of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to a graduate program.

If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. Griffins does not require all students to complete a senior project.

Does Griffins Have Services For Students With Disabilities?

Griffins offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does Griffins Offer Online Classes?

Griffins has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does Griffins Give AP Credit?

Griffins offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does Griffins Have An Honor's Program?

Griffins offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and offers a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does Griffins Require Internships?

Griffins requires an internship for students in some majors only. Students can look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
