Valdosta State is on a 180-acre campus in a small town setting in Valdosta, Georgia There are many activities and organizations for Valdosta State students to participate in – band, chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, a radio station and more.
Valdosta State also has fraternities and sororities.
Valdosta State has a thriving Psychology CLub. In fact, more students participate in Psychology CLub than any other on-campus activity.

Valdosta State offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through freshman year. First year students are given priority for on-campus housing.
Most Valdosta State students live off campus. In 2021, 27.5% of undergrads at Valdosta State lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 72.5% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Valdosta State. There are 2,836 spots available in on-campus housing for all 9,570 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 2,768 students chose to live on-campus. On the weekends, about 5% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.
