UNF Academics

University of North Florida requires a minimum of 120 semester hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. Students can choose the accelarated degree program if they would like to finish all the credits for graduation in less time than normal. Around 61% of students who started college at UNF complete all the credits required within six years. UNF offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Are Required at UNF?

UNF has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students are required to fulfill a lanuage requirement as well as a math and science requirement. Students are required to take a computer class to fufill the graduation requirements for UNF.

Majors at UNF

When choosing a major, UNF students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at UNF below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Declaring a double major may require more work but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when job searching or applying to a graduate program.

If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. UNF does not require a senior project for all students.

Does UNF Have Services For Students With Disabilities?

UNF offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does UNF Offer Online Classes?

UNF has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does UNF Offer AP Credit?

UNF offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does UNF Have An Honor's Program?

UNF offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, but does not offer a Freshman Honors College.

Does UNF Require Internships?

UNF does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
