Edison State Academics

Thomas Edison State University requires a minimum of 120 credits to complete a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Edison State does not offer an orientation program before the start of fall classes.

What Classes Are Required at Edison State?

Edison State has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students are not required to fulfill a lanuage requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.

Majors at Edison State

When choosing a major, Edison State students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at Edison State below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Double majoring may require more work but it can provide an interesting mix of experience that helps students stand out when job searching or applying to grad school.

If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. Edison State does not require a senior project for all students.

Does Edison State Offer Learning Disability Services?

Edison State offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Edison State has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does Edison State Offer AP Credit?

Edison State offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does Edison State Have An Honor's Program?

Edison State does not offer an honors program, but does have a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students. .

Does Edison State Require Internships?
