Southwest Texas State Academics

Texas State University requires at least 120 semester hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Around 55% of students who started college at Southwest Texas State complete all the credits required within six years. Southwest Texas State offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Do I Have To Take at Southwest Texas State?

Southwest Texas State has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students need to fulfull a language requirement as well as a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.
