Texas A&M Student Life

Texas A&M is in a suburban setting in College Station, Texas, not far from Houston. There are many activities and organizations for Texas A&M students to participate in – band, chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, a radio station and more.

Texas A&M also has fraternities and sororities.

Texas A&M students' favorite campus events are Big Event, Family Weekend and Aggie Muster.

Does Texas A&M offer student housing?

Texas A&M offers housing. Students are not required to live on campus First year students are given priority for on-campus housing.

Most Texas A&M students live off campus. In 2021, 20% of undergrads at Texas A&M lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 80% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Texas A&M. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

Texas A&M offers coed housing and housing for students with disabilities.

Safety at Texas A&M

College is like a home away from home. Whether you're walking to class or coming back from late-night studying (or partying!), it's important to feel safe on campus.

Texas A&M University is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The Texas A&M campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night.

Texas A&M offers late-night transportation or safety escorts for students. Dorms can only be accessed with secure key cards so that students can feel confident that they are safe in on-campus housing.

Additionally, Texas A&M has student escorts.
