Southern California Institute of Technology requires at least 180 quarter credit hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Around 53% of students who started college at SCIT finish the requirements for graduation within six years. SCIT offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.
SCIT has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.
When choosing a major, SCIT students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at SCIT below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Declaring a double major may require more work but it can provide a unique combination of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to a graduate program.
Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. Students are not required to complete a senior project unless it is required for their specific major .
SCIT does not offer services for students with disabilities.
SCIT does not have distance learning options or fully-online programs, so students must be able to attend classes on-campus.
SCIT does not offer credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken during high school.
SCIT does not offer an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, but does not offer a Freshman Honors College.
