Pratt Community College Student Life

Pratt Community College is on a 80-acre campus in a rural setting in Pratt, Kansas, not far from Wichita. Pratt Community College has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, and more.

Pratt Community College does not have fraternities or sororities.

Pratt Community College has a thriving Phi Theta Kappa. In fact, more students participate in Phi Theta Kappa than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at Pratt Community College include Rotaract, Christian Challenge, Block and Bridle and Kappa Beta Delta.

The Pratt Community College community comes together each year for Mr. Cinderfella, Beaver Fever Week and Rodeo Week.

Pratt Community College Housing

Pratt Community College offers on-campus housing. Students are required to live on campus through sophomore year. First year students are given no special consideration for on-campus housing.

Most Pratt Community College students live off campus. In 2021, 35% of undergrads at Pratt Community College lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 65% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Pratt Community College. There are 356 spots available in on-campus housing for all 1,664 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 300 students chose to live in campus housing. On the weekends, about 35% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

Pratt Community College Athletics

At Pratt Community College there are a variety of athletic options for students interested in joining a sports program.

Intercollegiate sports are the highest tier of college sports and can be very competitive. Intercollegiate teams are regulated by the NCAA, funded by the university, and compete against teams from other universities. The division of a sports team depends on the size of the university, funding, and competition level. An intercollegiate school team will be Division I, II or III, with Division I being the highest level.

Club sports are not regulated by the NCAA and are a great option for students not interested in trying out for an intercollegiate team. Club sports are usually student run but can also be funded by the university.

Intramural sports are the most casual and informal. Intramural sports are often free and require very little time commitment.
