Molloy College Student Life

Molloy College is on a 30-acre campus in a suburban setting in Rockville Centre, New York, not far from New York City. There are many activities and organizations for Molloy College students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, and more.

Molloy College does not have fraternities or sororities.

Molloy College has a thriving Molloy Student Government. In fact, more students participate in Molloy Student Government than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at Molloy College include Molloy Nursing Student Association, Molloy Performing Arts Club, Men's Rugby and MolloyLife Media.

Molloy College students' favorite campus traditions are Maroon Madness, Snowball Formal and Welcome Back/End of Year BBQs.

Molloy College offers housing. Students are not required to live on campus First year students are given priority for on-campus housing.

Most Molloy College students live off campus. In 2021, 5% of undergrads at Molloy College lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 95% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Molloy College. There are 322 spots available in on-campus housing for all 3,510 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 160 students chose to live on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

Molloy College Athletics

At Molloy College there are a variety of athletic options for students interested in joining a sports program.

Intercollegiate sports are the highest tier of college sports and can be very competitive. Intercollegiate teams are regulated by the NCAA, funded by the university, and compete against teams from other universities. The division of a sports team depends on the size of the unversity, funding, and compention level. An intercollegiate school team will be Division I, II or III, with Division I being the highest level.

Club sports are not regulated by the NCAA and are a great option for students not interested in trying out for an intercollegiate team. Club sports are usually student run but can also be funded by the university.

Intramural sports are the most casual and informal. Intramural sports are often free and require very little time commitment.
