Massachusetts Maritime Academy

The Academy is located at the tip of the Cape Cod Canal. The more than 55-acre, oceanfront campus is just minutes away from Cape Cod’s quaint villages, sandy beaches, harbors and lighthouses.

The Regiment of Cadets and regimental-style uniforms play an important role in campus life. The Regiment reinforces that status at the Academy is not an entitlement based on gender, race, or socio-economic class; it is earned through hard work, honor, and integrity.

The Academy's 540 foot training ship is docked at the end of the Cape Cod Canal.

The Marine Science, Safety, and Environmental Protection (MSSEP) major takes environmental sciences to applied and practical levels.

Cadets gain a firm grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering systems through classroom and experimental learning.

Many of the clubs on campus are organized by cadet special-interest groups and obtain their funds through the Student Government Association.

Here’s a look into a day in the life of our freshman 4C cadets.

During our 2 week freshman Orientation in August, cadets learn to perform rowing drills.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy‘s Regimental Band, Honor Guard and Drill Team (Seventh Company) is a highly involved unit on the Massachusetts Maritime Academy campus and in the surrounding community.

The Marine Transportation major prepares students for careers as licensed ship's deck officers. Students train on ship simulators as well as the Academy training's vessels.

Extracurricular activities are viewed as a way to develop a strong sense of comradery, as well as, maintain the Academy's Tradition of Pride. All cadets encouraged to participate in the wide variety of activities and athletics offered at the Academy.
