LC Academics

Linfield University requires a minimum of 125 semester credits to graduate with a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Around 75% of students who started college at LC graduate within six years. LC offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

Which Courses Are Required at LC?

LC has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students are not required to take a computer class to graduate.

Majors at LC

When choosing a major, LC students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at LC below. Student struggling to choose just one area of study may consider a double major. Declaring a double major may require more work but it can provide a unique combination of experience that helps students stand out when looking for a job or applying to grad school.

If students would like to study something that is not offered as an official major, they can design their own major. LC does not require a senior project for all students.

Does LC Offer Learning Disability Services?

LC offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

Does LC Have An Online Program?

LC has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.

Does LC Offer Credit for AP Classes?

LC offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does LC Have An Honor's Program?

LC does not offer an honors program, but does have a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students. .

Does LC Require Internships?

LC does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
