LCC Academics

Leeward Community College requires a minimum of to graduate with a bachelor's degree. There is no accelarated degree program, . Additionally, LCC has a summer session, so students can earn credits during the summer. LCC offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.

What Classes Are Required at LCC?

LCC has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.

When choosing a major, LCC students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at LCC below. LCC does not offer double majors, so students must choose on area of study to focus on. .

Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. LCC does not require all students to complete a senior project.

LCC offers services for students with disabilities. Prospective students can contact the college's Office of Disability Services to learn more about any support and accomodations offered. These conversations are usually kept confidential and will not be shared with the admissions office if you do not wish to share.

LCC offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.

Does LCC Have An Honor's Program?

LCC offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.

Does LCC Require Internships?

LCC does not require an internship for all students Students can still look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
