Lake Region State College Student Life

Lake Region State College is on a 120-acre campus in a small town setting in Devils Lake, North Dakota. There are many activities and organizations for Lake Region State College students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, , and more.

Lake Region State College does not have fraternities or sororities.

Lake Region State College has a thriving Royal Ambassadors. In fact, more students participate in Royal Ambassadors than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at Lake Region State College include Student Senate, DECA, Phi Theta Kappa and Student Nurse Organization.

Lake Region State College students' favorite campus traditions are Orientation, Title IX Training and Student Life Activities.

Lake Region State College Housing

Lake Region State College offers housing. Students are not required to live on campus First year students are given no special consideration for on-campus housing.

Most Lake Region State College students live off campus. In 2021, 12% of undergrads at Lake Region State College lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 65% of students lived off-campus or commuted to Lake Region State College. There are 220 spots available in on-campus housing for all 1,771 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 200 students chose to live in campus housing. On the weekends, about 50% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

Lake Region State College offers coed housing and housing for students with disabilities.

Lake Region State College Athletics

At Lake Region State College there are a variety of athletic options for students interested in joining a sports program.

Intercollegiate sports are the highest tier of college sports and can be very competitive. Intercollegiate teams are regulated by the NCAA, funded by the university, and compete against teams from other universities. The division of a sports team depends on the size of the unversity, funding, and compention level. An intercollegiate school team will be Division I, II or III, with Division I being the highest level.

Club sports are not regulated by the NCAA and are a great option for students not interested in trying out for an intercollegiate team. Club sports are usually student run but can also be funded by the university.

Intramural sports are the most casual and informal. Intramural sports are often free and require very little time commitment.
