College of the Atlantic has the Earth in Brackets [earth]. In fact, more students participate in the Earth in Brackets [earth] than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at College of the Atlantic include Outing Club, Campus Committee for Sustainability, Futbol (soccer) Club and Board Gaming Club.

The College of the Atlantic community comes together each year for Bar Island Swim, Earth Day and Aurora Ballealis (midwinter semi-formal).

College of the Atlantic offers on-campus housing. Students are required to live on campus through freshman year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

The majority of College of the Atlantic students live on campus. In 2022, 56% of undergrads at College of the Atlantic lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 44% of students lived off-campus or commuted to College of the Atlantic. There are 235 spots available in on-campus housing for all 374 undergraduates. In the 2021-2022 school year, 211 students chose to live in campus housing. On the weekends, about 90% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.
