College of the Atlantic Student Life

College of the Atlantic is on a 35-acre campus in a small town setting in Bar Harbor, Maine. College of the Atlantic has many clubs, organizations, and activities for students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, , and more.

College of the Atlantic does not have fraternities or sororities.

College of the Atlantic has a thriving Earth in Brackets [earth]. In fact, more students participate in Earth in Brackets [earth] than any other on-campus activity.

Other popular student organizations at College of the Atlantic include Outing Club, Campus Committee for Sustainability, Futbol (soccer) Club and Board Gaming Club.

College of the Atlantic students' favorite campus events are Bar Island Swim, Earth Day and Aurora Ballealis (midwinter semi-formal).

Does College of the Atlantic Offer Student Housing?

College of the Atlantic offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through freshman year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing.

Most College of the Atlantic students live off campus. In 2021, 41% of undergrads at College of the Atlantic lived in some kind of on-campus housing and 59% of students lived off-campus or commuted to College of the Atlantic. There are 195 spots available in on-campus housing for all 366 undergraduates. In the 2020-21 school year, 148 students chose to live on-campus. On the weekends, about 90% students stay on-campus. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.
