Caltech is on a 124-acre campus in a suburban setting in Pasadena, California, not far from Los Angeles. There are many activities and organizations for Caltech students to participate in – chorus, theater groups, a campus newspaper, and more.

Caltech has a thriving Instrumental music groups. In fact, more students participate in Instrumental music groups than any other on-campus activity.

Caltech offers housing. Students are required to live on campus through freshman year. First year students are guaranteed on-campus housing. First year students are allowed to park a car on campus.

California Institute of Technology is patroled 24 hours a day by trained security. The Caltech campus has emergency telephones or alarms for students to use anytime of day or night.
Caltech offers late-night transportation or safety escorts for students. Campus housing is secure and dorms can only be accessed with secure key cards.
