Allen College requires a minimum of 124 credit hours to graduate with a bachelor's degree. If students would like to graduate in less time than normal, they can choose the accelerated degree program. Allen College offers an orientation program before the start of fall classes to prepare new students for college life.
Allen College has a core curriculum, which means there are certain classes or types of classes all students must take to graduate. Students do not need to fulfull a language requirement , but there is a math and science requirement. Students do not have to take a computer class.
When choosing a major, Allen College students have several choices to make. Scroll down to see a full list of majors offered at Allen College below. Allen College does not offer double majors, so students must choose on area of study to focus on. .
Students must choose one of the majors offered by the college. Self-designed majors are not allowed. Allen College does not require all students to complete a senior project.
Allen College does not offer services for students with disabilities.
Allen College has distance learning options for students who are interested in taking classes online.
Allen College offers some credit for Advanced Placement (AP) classes taken in high school. Schools have different requirements for what AP scores they accept, so some students may not receive AP credit.
Allen College offers an honors program for highly-qualified applicants, and does not offer a Freshman Honors College. The Freshman Honors college provides a rich curriculum for highly-motivated first-year students.
Allen College requires an internship for students in some majors only. Students can look for internships during the summer, or gain work experience with a part-time job.
