Campus Visit Notes for Grand Canyon University-Traditional Campus

Visit Description:

My first time on GCU's campus was when we drove onto the campus to drop my son off at his dorm. There was an excitement in the air and the students had my son's things unloaded from our car and in his dorm in record time-literally under two minutes. The campus is beautiful-stunning, in fact, with PLENTY to do. My son said there was always something to do and he ran from one activity to another. He engaged quickly with other students so that by the time we left, we were confident he wasn't lonely. He just began classes, so time will tell how academically rigorous the school is, but for now, at least, we give it an A+.

Most of the student body (especially the student leaders) were extremely well-spoken and kind. The staff and faculty we encountered were also top-notch. I think the school is headed for some great things!

Negative: I didn't see a serious study environment, but that could be because of the flurry of fun during Welcome Week. Again, time will tell.
