I have terrible senioritis too! It's so hard to study when you know grades and APs don't really matter anymore...Plus there are so many parties this time of year.

yes, but don't forget, the schools can rescind offers AND those AP scores do matter! You can get some college credit and avoid taking unnecessary classes (save time, money, and aggravation!)

Actually, I can't get any credit (other than general elective credit that I don't really need) for my AP's at the place I'm going, and I highly doubt my school is going to rescind their offer if my grades fall from a 4.0 to like a 3.7 or 3.8.

dree where are you going?

By Mitacceptee (Mitacceptee) on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 - 07:57 pm: Edit

I'm going to Princeton, and I know taking the AP English Literature test won't help me a bit, even if I get a 5.

Poutingminotaur, I'm going to MIT

By Trixie7043 (Trixie7043) on Sunday, May 04, 2003 - 03:11 pm: Edit

My AP English Lit teacher hasn't done ANYTHING this year. We've read 5 books but haven't gone over any of them. All we've done is read Hamlet and Death of a Salesman. On Friday we figured we'd at least get a "good luck" from her but all she said was "Don't forget your quiet snacks!" She hasn't given us any information on how the test is set up or any sample tests to study from! What should I do?

hey poutingminotaur and dree, can u post ur stats, i am a minority and got rejected from MIT
my stats are as follows:

SAT II: Math IIC: 750
PSAT M:77 V:54
SAT I: M: 740 V: 570

GPA: 3.9
math through Multivariable calculus by Junior year and AP Physics junior year too

I came to the U.S. six years ago and spoke virtually no english prior to that, and MIT AO's are aware of that!

Took TOEFL: computer based, near perfect 293/300

many awards, very diverse, from robotcis to art, mainly local and regional

ECs
x-country, outdoor and indoor track,(varsity and for school) soccer, basketball (none school related) 26hrs/week work at dept store!

so plz post ur stats cause i don't know why i didn't get in and i'm wondering what it takes!

oh yeah, I never got less than A's in math or physics, low GPA is due to messy grades in english and humanities b/c i didn't care, and i though MIT didn't care either!

I feel bad i got rejected so i am not sure if i will transfer to MIT but i am considering it, if not, i will try to transfer to Caltech! if i get into both as a transfer, I will got to caltech cause i am not happy that MIT didn't like their first impression of me! so, there is a small chance i might join u guys in a year or two but i really want to know ur stats

oh yeah, AA doesn't work, like i said, I am a minority and not ver rich to say the least!
