If my school does not offer any AP classes and I am transferring to another school so I can take some classes, would that help to impress colleges to show what I am willing to do for school work

Traditionally, colleges like to see that students are "maxing out" of their schools, whether it be regular or competitive school. Harvard and other elite schools stress that students take advantage of the most rigorous courses available to them. From what they say, they'd rather take in students who maxed out of a regular school (by creating clubs, taking the hardest courses, doing research at a nearby college, etc.) than students doing enough just to get by at a competitive school.
