I have been looking on-line for a textbook to self study for the AP Art History exam, and I was wondering if someone could recommend a good book to do this with....I found Art History by Marilyn Stokstad what do you guys think of that? Thanks

I took ap art history last year and my class used volumes 1 and 2 of Gardner's Art Through the Ages. Both books are HUGE and we got through over half of each book. The books have tons of pictures and include all the arts of the world. I got a 5 on the exam and felt that the books were the best prep I could have had. My only suggestion is to work at a fast pace since both books are very thorough. Skip over chapters that are not a large percentage of the test. We didn't have time to study much art outside of the western tradition but it was no effect in the end. Overall the books were awesome!! If you are willing to put in the work, you will get the results using these books. Good luck.
