Just a question for all you piano players out there- anyone playing or who has played Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu- have you had success getting it up to tempo? I have both hands together now fine and I thought I was playing it relatively fast but then I just heard a recording,,,it's like ten times faster!!! How does anyone do that??

lol, Practice! :-)
But seriously, the best way to learn fast pieces is to start at a slow tempo at which you can easily play all the notes--it seems you've done that. Then just crack out your metronome, and when you feel comfortable playing at a new tempo, just crack it up a few beats. It might take a while, but it works.
Good luck!

I'm playing one of Chopin's Etudes pieces (slightly easier than Impromptu i think), and i want a second, very different, harder piece. any suggestions?
