Hi guys...i am currently a junior in HS...I am about to be programmed for senior classes. This is my predicted schedule (there's only 1-10 periods in my school):
1. AP Lit
2. AP Calc BC (2 periods)
3. AP Calc BC (2 periods)
4. AP US Gov
5. AP Economics
6. AP Comp Sci (2 periods)
7. AP Comp Sci (2 periods)
8. Honors Physics(*please see below)
9. Gym
10. Spanish (*please see below)
NOW the problems are:
1. Physics is VERY hard in my school since all the teachers that teach it are morons...as a result of this, I wanted to take physics over the summer (full year course in a month or so)...BUT, if i do that, that means I cannot advance in SPANISH, which I am very behind in..(I am only in 1st yr spanish wit frosh!!)....
SO should i take the non-honors physics over the summer and just get that out of the picture and be stuck in 2nd year non-honors spanish in my senior year? OR should i take a year of spanish over the summer to advance into 3rd year HONORs spanish and taking HONORS physics in my school at the same time??
2. I am an artist, or so i am called. I am good but I do not want to be an artist by profession, therefore, i do not want to go to art school. My art teacher is forcing me to drop a couple of APs next year to work on my portfolio or he's goin to drop me from his class. Should i drop art and go for the APs? or should i stay in his class and develop a spectacular portfolio? WHICH APPEALS to ACADEMIC schools more?? More APs or an awesome portfolio?? I COULD work on the portfolio at home without his help...what do you guys think??
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE!!!

let me tell you this.take the art classes. even if your not good, if your school offers ap art take that in stead of physics. or if you take spanish over the summer, get rid of the spanish and take ap art. its that easy

i took 3 years of art classes...every semester i took art...i can do this portfolio on my own...the teacher and his class is just a monkey on my back that will only serve to remind me to work on art...

take the spanish during the summer rather than the physics, if your going to take one

yea, i am kinda leaning towards taking spanish over the summer...but i am really afraid that if i take spanish, i will have to take classes 1-10 periods as i laid out in my first post...i don't think it will be easy for me to convince my counselor to let me have 1-10 periods...that's like...off limits in nyc public schools (budget)...
i will try tho...

don't let their budget get in your way. If you demand and your parents get on their case, they can't possibly say "lack of money."

another question is...how RELEVANT is physics for my intended major? I want to go into advertising/entepeneurship/international business...i have all the required sciences i need to graduate...should i take physics or just take environmental sci or somethin? or just not take a sci anymore?
