Hey, just wondering if there were any outstanding private schools in florida, (and if there's not..) just like the top ones.

A friend is debating whether to go into one, so just trying to find some info. on the perceived top ones, as googling it didn't work to well.

High School? If you mean high school Palmetto High is pretty good. As for college, try University of Miami.

um..tampa here! ....as far as highschool goes the most prestigious ones in the bay are are Tampa Prepatory (http://www.tampaprep.org/) and Berkley Prepatory (http://www.berkeleyprep.org/) and especially for the guys there is also a branch of Jesuit(http://www.jesuittampa.org/). For colleges there is universty of tampa(http://www.utampa.edu/). I've also heard that flagler in st. augustine(http://www.flagler.edu/) and Jacksonville U(http://www.ju.edu/) are really beautiful.
then of course there are always old favs:
University of Miami(http://www.miami.edu/UMH/CDA/UMH_Main/)
and
Stetson(http://www.stetson.edu/home/)

pinecrest is also good (ft. lauderdale...google it)
and alot of my friends go to the IB program at Coral Reef HS (miami...google it)

usf rocks!...my cousin is in his freshman year there..started last fall...and he plans to major in forensics...got a scholarship and everything...any way ive lived in tampa all of my life and i can tell you that the area is very safe, beautiful campus, big though... defintily one of the better parts of town. A lot of younger people in the area because of the school and theres a very large popular mall nearby also. not to mention busch gardens and adventure island is like a 5 min drive from campus. and theres also always a lot of sports events and concerts going on at the usf sundome like right there.
because my grades arent so great im planning on going to the local hillsborough community college to study theatre and then i will most likley transfer to USF for the next two years. Which is the track a lot of local kids take. it is the best large scale public university in the remote area. and they have a lot of great programs that are very reputable. Its a great school.

Hehe, small world. Although I am no longer attending Pinecrest [drive to Ft.L too long], I did go there in my younger years.

Granted, your question wasn't directed towards me, I did feel the need to chime in. If you are referring to Erica, the gal accepted to MIT and Caltech, I do know her. She's gonna be in the my limo for prom.


BTW, Ransom High School apparently does quite well with college, but if you have the choice, go pc.

Nabo-the Erica I know is a junior. I think my friends are all on the yearbook staff... If that gives you any idea of who they are.
